Cary Bass, an LCA Lutheran from the cradle, was raised on the east coast between Maryland and South Carolina, then spent 18 years in Florida. His work for the Wikimedia Foundation brought him, and his partner, Michael, to San Francisco in 2008. In 2009, when the ELCA changed its policy on LGBT ministers, Cary felt a resurgence of a calling from his younger years, and he entered Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Fall of 2010. Right now, Cary is deeply interested in pursuing the new Evangelism and Justice concentration that the ELCA is offering - a renewed focus for congregational mission.
