We have a community in need in our own backyard.

The Richmond Shelter supplies an adult community of 50-100 men and women with shelter and food for up to 3 months when they find themselves on the street with no where to sleep or nothing to eat. Many of these folks are like you and I just hit with circumstances that are beyond them and are asking for a chance to get back on their feet and on with their lives.

Join with St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Walnut Creek to feed them a home cooked hot meal on every 3rd Saturday of the month. Together both churches provide a main dish, vegetable, salad, and dessert.

      We meet at 4_pm in the St. Mark's kitchen to gather up requested menu items. Those people who want to serve, car pool to Richmond. We meet the people from St. Luke's at the shelter at 5:30_pm to serve dinner. After dessert, we have gathered to sing hymns and we have had a great time. We are usually home by 7:30_pm.

      St. Luke's has been doing this for 20+ years and is thankful to be partnering with us in this important ministry. Look for the sign up sheet for needed menu items on the table in the narthex.
